WHEN TO TRAVEL?
Every season in Africa is interesting, and we'll be happy to advise you on the ideal time of year for your destination. The winter months are generally drier, making it easier to observe the animals. They congregate at waterholes, making for marvelous photo opportunities. Temperatures are also more temperate.

As a general rule, availability and prices are more favorable during the African summer. The bush vegetation is in all its glory after the summer rains, and this is also the time of birthing and migration.
WHAT TO BRING
Southern Africa is generally pleasant throughout the year - warm to hot days and cool to warm nights. Summer (September to April) is the hottest time of year; while winter (May to August) can be far cooler than most people realise especially in evenings and early morning with hot days. Ensure to have warm layers for sunrise and sunset activities.

Select safari clothing which is made from muted neutral and naturally toned fabric such as shades of khaki, greens, and browns. White, black and bright colours are not recommended for Safari. It is illegal in some African countries for civilians to wear camouflage safari clothing, so this is best avoided.

Prioritize cotton and linen to stay cool in warm climates.

Ensure to pack: t-shirts and tank tops, long-sleeved shirts, shorts, lightweight long pants or convertible hiking pants (both pants and shorts), warm fleece /sweater or jacket, bandana, thick sweater, gloves and hat if traveling in the cold season, swimsuit, sarong or kikoi for lounging on the beach or by the pool at your accommodation, cotton socks and underwear, pyjamas, a pair of comfortable walking shoes, a pair of sandals or flip-flops, a wide-brimmed hat.
